In Europe there are several tour routes for motorists that combine cities along the route with a specific topic. For example, the German "Romantic Road Route" (see also the award for that one!). There is also a route taking you through several locations which are famous for their children's toy industry. Ulm is proud of possessing the highest church spire in the world, 161 meters tall. The DARC Ulm DOK P14" awards this certificate. It can be applied for by all licensed radio hams and SWL’s that have made contact with radio stations in Ulm after 1st January 2004. Only contact with the following DOK’s are valid: P14, P39, and Z-68. Each contact counts one point for each station for each band worked. The same station may be contacted via different bands for which also one point per band is awarded.

Work German postal code areas after 1-7-1993. SWL OK. German postal zip codes consist of five numbers (e.g. 99091). The first two digits stand for the region and are geographically arranged (the first number designates the district zone, the second the guidance region). The last three numbers mark the post office place, street and/or P.O. Boxes. There a total of 95 guidance regions (05, 11, 43 and 62 are not used). For example, DF5SF's card shows a postal code of 72766. This counts for "72".

On HF, you need 50 and on VHF 25 different postal codes from regions 01-99. Endorsements for 55, 65, 75, 85 and 95 worked postal code regions. The postal code must be printed on the QSL card. The Island Hoppers club offers the Vineta Award to all licensed amateurs and SWLs. Requirements: confirmed QSOs (or SWL reports) with stations on Usedom Island and/or its neighboring islands of Goermitz and Karsibor. The award is issued for CW- or
for FONE (SSB, FM, mixed) QSOs. All bands may be used. Contacts via repeater will not count.

DL and SP need 6 different call signs of Usedom and its neighbor islands, but at least 2 of them must be from Usedom (SP) or
Goermitz or Karsibor.

All others and for CW-ONLY applicants need 4 different call signs of Usedom, Goermitz or Karsibor.

In 1995, the old Iron Works were designated by UNESCO as a world culture inheritance. DARC group Q-05 sponsors this award commemorating the many years this facility was used to make steel for industrial Germany.

Collect 100 points on HF or 25 points above 30 MHz. Stickers available for additional 100/25 points. Points are to be gained by participating in several AWG activities such as the Fielddays of the AWG, expeditions, etc and by working the AWG clubstation DL0AWG. Basic points for each participation is 5 points. These points may be multiplied by working stations on different bands and by the number of different DOKs contacted. At least two activities will be organized each year. Extra 2 points may be gained by working DL0AWG outside these activity periods.

Anton is a little sympathic guy and forms the symbol of he AWG. Use any letter from the suffix of any stations to spell out "AKTIVITÄTSGRUPPE WOLFSBURG GIFHORN". Joker stations for any missing letter include the club station from FIH, OV H08 and H24. You may replace the German letter "Ä" with Joker station.

During a moonphase (period of 28 days) one should contact a station with a DO prefix on both 2m and 70cm. Each station may be worked on both bands, but you must use at least 28 different DO stations.

I love AWG World Wonders
Awarded when you have earned 6 awards of this series, and the AWG Activity Award is earned plus a contact with an AWG club station on 4 different bands.

When they were divided, the river Aller made a part of the border between the FRG and the GDR. Work 3 stations from each of the DOKs located along this river. (30 QSOs) Following DOKs are valid : W15, W03, H24, H05, H08, H55, H50, I17 and I15. Clubstations are worth two contacts. VHF and/or CW sticker available.

Collect 50 different awards to earn this basic diploma. One of the awards must be from the AWG/Gifhorn listing. Endorsement for each additional AWG and 10 additional from any other source.

Available only for those who are married or live together. Fulfill the following requirements:
1. The OM station calls the YL, makes a contact, and ends with an "88".
2. The YL calls CQ, hears the OM answer and ends the QSO with an "88".
3. The OM and YL operating from the same location make a contact with another station.
Each of these 3 parts must be repeated on at least 2 bands, for a total of 6 QSOs.

Contact at least 11 different DOKs in the Harz and Heide area. Following DOKs are valid : H08, H24, H03, H66, H46, H59, H30, H54, H20, H36, H33, H21, H60, H09, H11 VHF and/or CW sticker available.

Contact stations who are members of any club. Use the membership numbers printed on their QSLs to see how many points a contact is worth. If a stations has more than one member number, all numbers may be added together for greater value. Example : you have DL9OE's QSL card. This card lists following membership numbers : DIG 3050, RTC 71, AGCW 1157, FISTS 1118, making a total of 5,396. Using these rules, collect 1,111,111 points. At least 11 different clubs and 110 different QSLs should be represented. Club memberships with no number do not count (e.g. DXCC, Rag Chewers Club RCC, etc). VHF and/or CW sticker available.

Work 26 stations whose first name begins with each of the letters of the alphabet. With double names, either the first or second name may be used. Missing letters may be replaced by QSOs with AWG club stations.

Work 11 stations with QTH in the Lüneburger Heide. The Lüneburger Heide is situated between Hamburg, Gifhorn, Bremen and Lüneburg. VHF and/or CW sticker available.

Work German stations, using their DOK letter to build to following sentence : "Die Zukunft hat begonnen" (In English : the future has started). If you worked the AWG clubstation DL0AWG, DK0AWG or DO0AWG, any letter which appears twice in the sentence, only has to be worked once (such as the "u" in Zukunft). VHF and/or CW sticker available.

The number of days between the date you got your license and the award application date makes the number of required QSOs.

Example : DL9OE was licensed on May 9th, 1972 and applied for the award on June 30th, 2001. This makes a total of 10,592 days DL9OE has to make 10,592 QSOs to earn the award.

Note : you do NOT have to list all contacts ; a statement signed by two OMs is sufficient. When applying, please include a copy of your license. Not available to SWLs.

While in any of these cities, work any 11 different stations. VHF and/or CW sticker available.

Make 11 QSOs while signing from a portable location. Not just every location is valid though it all depends on the Maidenhaid locator and your name! Find a place in any Maidenhead locator of which the last two letters are exactly those which form your initials. Example : DL2ABMs name is Karsten Radwan and travels to Maidenhead locator JO52KR and contacts any 11 stations while signing portable from that locator. Endorsement stickers are available when you repeat this activity from another valid locator. Example : DL2ABM could also travel to JO30KR.

Collect 11 QSL cards with different background colors. They should selected to be as different as the colors of a rainbow spectrum as possible. The basic colors of red, yellow, green and blue must be present. White does not count as a color. GCR list specifying the colors of the cards.

On HF you need to work 11 stations. Each of these 11 stations should be worked on 4 different bands, making a total of 44 QSOs. However these 4 contacts should be made on 4 consecutive days. Example : work DL9OE on 4th March 2002 on 10m, on 5th March on 20m, on 6th March on 40m and on 7th March on 15m. On VHF, you need 22 stations on 2 different bands. For example: work DO9LBN on 2m today and on 70cm the next day.

DARC division I45 issues this award to commemorate the founding of this society in 1990. Contacts for the requirements must be made on or after 1 Jan 2000. Each of the three parts must be earned:

1) Collect exactly 1890 points. The suffix of any station designates the points value. A letter "A" = 1 point, "B" = 2 points, "Z" = 26 points. For example, the award managers call DH1BMV counts B=2 + M=13 + V=22 = 37 points. Point value doubled if contact was made on 40m or 70cm.
