K1BV DX AWARDS DIRECTORY

The 2009 edition.

The 2009 edition of the K1BV DX Awards Directory is now available.

Basic statistics:
     3312 different awards,
     119 DXCC countries,
     324 pages.
Changes of address, fees, rules, etc. on almost every page.

There's a college education in history and geography contained in those pages.
Awards that recognize famous personalities and events, contacting every sort of geographical division,
Recognizing the ability to communicate by every different mode  and power level.
Awards for contacting so many different members of a thousand different clubs.
Awards for contacting islands, lighthouses, (even a separate category for "haunted lighthouses) The latest craze is contacting stations in different Nature Parks/Preserves!  (See Russia, Portugal, Moldova).

The variety of awards is almost beyond description.
Every ham radio and SWL interest is represented.  (HF, VHF, CW, SSB, PSK31, RTTY, YL, SWL, you name it!)
Challenge for a lifetime!

During 2008,  36 subscribers, friends and award custodians provided data on new awards and changed rules.  90 new short term awards and 150 permanent awards.  Sunspots aren't slowing down award custodians.

In 2002, getting the manual via the Internet was made a separate option.  Last year, about half of you chose that option.  The book and the Internet version are exactly the same, the big advantages with the Internet option are the great price and the fact that it's always up to date.  The disadvantage is that your computer has to be on and connected to the Internet.  As changes come in, I'll change my records and enter the change on the HTML file all in the same day.

There are no plans to do away with the printed version.  If you order the printed copy, you will automatically get a password for Internet access at no extra charge

PRICES - including postage:

FOR INTERNET Access only: (New or renewal subscriptions) Password access for one year $US6 or 6 IRC's.
