AUSTRALIA                            Tour Of Australia by Amateur Radio (TOABAR) Award

The object of this award is to tour around Australia by amateur radio, making progressive contacts as you go. Valid contacts for the award are those made on or after 1 November 2006. All bands and all modes. Specific band and mode endorsements are available. SWL OK.

Contact amateur radio stations located in 19 cities and towns around Australia. The FIRST and FINAL contacts are deemed to the Redcliffe checkpoint regardless of the participant's QTH and this contact must be a member of the Redcliffe and District Radio Club. Contacted stations in the following CITIES and TOWNS in the listed order: REDCLIFFE; BRISBANE; GOLD COAST; LISMORE; SYDNEY; CANBERRA; MELBOURNE; HOBART; ADELAIDE; PERTH; DARWIN; MOUNT ISA; CAIRNS; TOWNSVILLE; MACKAY; ROCKHAMPTON; BUNDABERG; MARYBOROUGH, SUNSHINE COAST & REDCLIFFE. (Note: For Sydney and the other major cities, all amateur stations in the greater metropolitan area of the city, are included as the major city). To make things easier please use one of the many suburbs that is provided in the links on the log sheet (below). Most of the suburbs should be there.

The rally may be run in either direction, i.e. Redcliffe south towards Sydney or Redcliffe north towards Townsville but the progress must be in order from the cities and towns listed above.

AZERBAIJAN                           HAZI AHAD OGLU ASLANOV Award

General Hazi Ahad oglu Aslanov (22.1.1910 - 24.1.1945) was born in Lenkoran city located in the Azerbaijan republic. During WWII, he was a major general of a tank division and twice decorated as a Hero of Soviet Union. Alsanov's tank men participated in the liberation of numerous cities.  In January 1945 he was badly wounded and died in action. He was awarded with the Lenin's order, three orders of Red Colours, Suvaorov's Order (II Degree), Alexander Nevskiy's Order, the order of the Great patriotic War (I Degree).  

The award is issued for two way radio and SWL contacts starting the 9th of May, 1983. Earn 100 points from the table below to earn the award:

POINT VALUES:
a. each QSO wtih the special event call signs 4K1V, 4K1AZI = 50 points;
b. QSO with the radio club station named after Hazi Aslanov 4K7Z = 40 points;
c. each QSO with members of the radio club 4K7Z = 10 points;
d. each QSO with any other radio amateur stations from Azerbaijan = 5 points.

All modes and bands (including WARC, VHF/UHF) two way & SWL contacts are valid for the diploma. Duplicate call signs are not allowed. The Grupo de Radioaficionados de Menorca sponsors this award to publicize the hermitages and towns where those hermitages are located in the Balearic islands. (Note: a "hermitage is a form of monastery or place of religious retreat, It may include very basic sleeping quarters, suitable for the ascetic way of living of the inhabitant.)

Contact at least 25 hermitages as listed in the DBT reference since 1-10 -2003 plus the club station EA6GRM reference DBT-000. Endorsements available for each 10 additional. A trophy is available for contacting 100 references. All bands and modes may be used. No use of repeaters. QSL cards should contain the following data: applicant's personal information (name, address and call sign), call sign of the special event stations, date, UTC time, band, name of the hermitage, and its reference number. BRAZIL                                  – NATAL Digital Group Series –

General Requirements: This series of awards is sponsored by the Natal Digital Group (NDG) for making contacts as required using only DIGITAL modes of operation. All of these awards are FREE of charge. You will apply via e-mail using the UltimateEPC file and receive an electronic file which can be printed in your shack.

You are required to download a special program from their Internet site called UltimateEPC. It selects and converts data from your electronic log ADIF file into the proper format based on the award you have chosen. The digital data on your file must have been created 8 April 2002 or later. The assumption is made that since you are applying for DIGITAL awards, that you possess one of the 29 popular logging programs which can create such an ADIF log and that you use Windows XP or Vista as an operating system.

The Maritime Counties Award is issued for making Amateur Radio contacts with the 36 counties of the Canadian Maritime Provinces {New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island}. For amateur radio stations/SWL' s around the world who contact/hear Geopark stations, the English Riviera Geopark is offering a special commemorative European Geoparks Network radio amateur certificate for contacts with GB6GEO ( an instant qualifier), or two Geopark stations excluding GB6GEO.  (SWL OK)  This certificate, is endorsed by our Queens husband H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh, with his own words congratulating the holder. Certificates will cost UK £2.20 each, Europe €3 and Rest of the world USD5.

Alternatively certificate holders to be the first in their country to claim the certificate will have an 'FC' suffix following the certificate number. This denotes the first person in their country to claim the 'Geoparks' award. These certificate holders will be worth one point towards the basic certificate, and two holders are required to claim the award, or work any five (5) non first country certificate holders to claim it.

GERMANY                       DL Worked Flora & Fauna

The DARC e. V. Ortsverband Syke (DOK I25) issues this award to licensed radio amateurs and SWLs after January 1^st 2009 under the following conditions: 

The applicant has to contact required numbers of German Nature Parks and Reserves with all contacts from the same DXCC-entity. All bands and modes. The Parks and Reserves must be shown on the official list as noted below. The DL FF-reference is equal to the WFF-reference and must be printed on the QSL-card.

The award is available in three classes:
Bronze/Bronce  for   8   DL FF
Silber/Silver  for  14   DL FF
Gold   for  20  DL FF

A missing contact with a national park or nature reserve can be substituted by using a contact with DFØWFF as a "Joker-point".  Stations activating a national park or a nature reserve must be located within its borders It is presupposed that the activator is following the rules of the area activated.  Stations activating an area according to the DL-FF-listing are allowed to apply for the award by using a log extract. The DARC Club, Ortsverband Märkisches Viertel, DOK D13, sponsors this permanent award on the occasion of the 40^th anniversary of the Markisches District of Berlin and hosting of more than 25 years the existing local group D-13. Amateurs and SWLs may earn the award for contacts with members on or after 1 January 2004. The award may be worked on HF or VHF bands.

Requirements: Earn 100 points on HF or 50 points for VHF QSOs.

HUNGARY                                       HA Fauna Flora Program

Contact (SWL OK) stations operating from Hungarian Parks and Natural Reserves using HAFF reference numbers.  No use of repeaters for this award.  Each valid HAFF area may be counted once.  Valid contacts are made as of 1 January of the year the Natural Park or sanctuary was established.  If the claimed contacts are shown in the WFF Online Log, QSLs are not needed.  Other QSOs require that the cards be submitted with the application. 

     The Basic Award requires contacts with 12 HAFF areas including at least 5 contracts with Parks listed under HAFF-001 to 010.  
     The Sliver Level requires 24 HA FF areas and at least 8 contacts with National Parks.
     The Golden Level requires ALL Parks and Sanctuaries to be contacted.

INDIA                               SAARC AMATEUR RADIO AWARD

SAARC stands for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. Member countries are: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The group was formed on on December 8, 1985 and provides a platform for the peoples of South Asia to work together in a spirit of friendship, trust and understanding. The radio amateur award offered by the group requires you must have confirmed two-way contacts with the countries of SAARC on or after 8 December 1985 as follows:

Bangladesh :1 Bhutan: 1 India: 5 Maldives: 2 Nepal: 2 Pakistan : 2 and Sri Lanka : 2 QSOs for a total of 15 QSOs.

ITALY                              FIRE BELT AWARD

The "fire belt award " has been created keeping in mind the several disasters involving loss of life and property over the last 10 years which are linked to the dangers of volcanic activity.

The award requires contacts with at least 15 of the 21 countries in all continents, which contain volcanos. When a country , such as the Philippines or Japan, are composed of several islands, the contact must be made with the island where the volcano is located. For example if we consider the Philippines the contact must be made with Luzon island. For Italy the contact must take place with Sicily for Etna or with Stromboli Island for the Stromboli volcano. Refer to their website for additional information.

First Level: 15 contacts with 15 different countries in all continents.
Second Level: 25 contacts =Silver colored Sticker
Third Level : 40 contacts = Gold colored Sticker
Fourth Level: 50 contacts = Honor Roll Sticker

ITALY                              DIPLOMA G.I.R.F. 

The G.I.R.F. Gruppo Italiano Radioamatori Ferrovieri (GIRF) [amateurs who work in the railroad industry] offers an annual award which will may be earned each year between March 1st at 00:00 UTC until March 15th at 24:00. Paid up members of the group are eligible to make contacts valid for the award, including time, report, name, QTH and a progressive number of the contact. They will be active on 160 through 40 meters, using SSB, CW and RTTY.

Points Required:
Italian Stations: O.M. and S.W.L = 40 POINTS
Foreign Stations: = 20 POINTS
G.I.R.F .member stations must make 100 contacts.

The same GIRF station may be contacted once per day but only on different bands and modes.  Each such QSO = 1 point. Special wild card or "JOLLY" stations will be active and will be worth 3 points only for non-GIRF stations.  Every year, the award design will be different, generally showing interesting railroad subjects. ITALY                             Italian Flora Fauna Award

The IFFA is sponsored by the ARI Mondovi (Cuneo) for all amateurs and SWLs to publicize the National Parks, Reserves, Oases and Natural or Protected Areas as recognized by the Italian Government of the environment and Guardianship of Italy. The award is available for contacting 10 different IFFA locations on HF or 5 references on VHF (50 MHz or higher). All modes may be used. Contacts must be made on or after 1 August 2009.

Application form is provided on website noted below. A list of valid FF references is also shown on their website. The award is FREE if you accept to receive it via e-mail in a PDF format and print in your shack. If you choose the FREE award, apply via e-mail to address shown below. ITALY                             ITALIAN NAVY SEAL DIPLOMA

Brindisi A.R.I. Section/Department sponsors the permanent award honoring the "Italian Navy Seal". The award is dedicated to the memory of the "Italian Seals" particularly to the M/bsm (Battaglione San Marco) Filippo MONTESI, who was killed during a peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.  An activity period every year will help make the award available. This will be from the third week of May to the third week of June. (During 2009, this will occur from 00.00 GMT on the 16 May 2009 to 24.00 GMT 21 June 2009.) The award is available to all amateurs and SWL around the world (QSOs among Brindisi stations is excepted). No use of repeaters.

The award is available for HF (Category A) or 50MHz and up (Category B).

Points required:
Category A -
1. Stations located from the islands around Brindisi as listed in IIA = 5 Points.
2. Stations who are members of the Brindisi ARI Association = 2 Points.
3. Special Event Station of the Brindisi ARI section IQ7PU = 3 Points.
4. Jolly station =5 Points.

Category B -
1 point for each KM of QRB.

The award will be given for making 30 points for the A Category (Italian OM) or 15 points (DX stations, or a minimum 10 QSOs for the B Category (Italian OM) or 5 QSO (DX stations).  Each valid station can be contacted just once a day in per mode or band. The Diploma will be awarded to those who send, no later than 31st August of every year detailed information about QSO (date, GMT time, mode, frequency, exchanged reports and progressive number), together with the QRB calculated and completed with the Locator for the B category. ITALY                      DIPLOMA MUNICIPI ITALIANI (DMI)

The word "Municipio" stands for the building which contains the mayor and city council. All Italian cities which contain such a building are valid for the award. Each such municipal building has been cataloged with a serial number such as "ROME DMI-5914."

There are two categories of Diploma DMI: Hunter and Expeditioner. The award is free and will be sent via e-mail in PDF format, ready to be printed directly from the applicant with a common printer. Award levels for the "Hunters" are bronze, silver, gold , and platinum for different steps of up to 250 references. If you do not have a printer, you may request the sponsor to mail you the appropriate award by sending the sum of 10 euros or $US14 U.S. dollars to cover expenses (no IRC or other currencies).

For the basic award, you must have contacted a minimum of 20 references for Italians, 10 references to Europeans, and just 5 references for other countries. A special diploma Honor Roll will be issued to those who have qso at least one reference for each region (20 references).

Valid operations of activation of references must be conducted in the vicinity of the building but may be no further than 500 meters from the outer perimeter of the building or at least as near as possible. Any fixed stations must produce appropriate documentation to demonstrate maximum distance of 500 meters. Refer to the website for a complete list of valid locations. .

A separate set of rules applies to those stations which activate the municipalities. They concern minimum number of contacts, number of activations each day, and how to verifiy newly activated buildings. ITALY                                   Vercelli - Saint Andrea’s Cathedral Award

The award honors Saint Andrea’s Cathedral, erected in 1219 and an important symbol of this town. It is one of the first examples of Italian Cistercian gothic architecture.

Class 3 - contact 5 nature reserves or national parks in Kazakhstan.
Class 2 - contact10 nature reserves or national parks in Kazakhstan.
Class 1 - contact 15 nature reserves or national parks in Kazakhstan.

Class 3 - activate 1 nature reserve or national park in Kazakhstan.

LITHUANIAN FLORA FAUNA AWARD (LYFFA)

It is issued for working stations located in Lithuanian national and regional parks.

Three levels of the award are offered:
Level III - 5 parks
Level II - 10 parks
Level I - 15 parks
Honour Roll - 20 parks

1. There are a total of 39 Lithuanian National and Regional parks.
2. Contacts qualify only if these contacts are made with stations situated in the list of given parks (each park has its identification number, e.g. LYFF -01)
3. Activators, who activate 5-10-15-20 parks, will receive awards as well as Honour Roll prizes with special "Activator" stickers.
4. For activating / working all parks it will be given additional stickers "Activated all LYFF" / "Worked all LYFF"
5.To qualify a park for the first time, it is necessary to make no less than 200 contacts. If a park has already been activated, then this does not apply.
7. Park activating amateur stations must be located in the territory of the park, if this does not contradict nature protection laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
12. At the end of the expedition it is recommended to the activators to send copies of operating journals, in ADIF format (e.g. LYFF-1_cALL.adi) to the award’s coordinator. Also, it is recommended to place operating journal’s copy in the http://ew4dx.org/WFF  search.html 
13. Park ambassador is a radio amateur who lives in the park and active within park’s boundaries, his station’s registration address is in the region of the park. If station is registered outside the territory of the park, then it is recommended to declare "on the air" as portable station "/P". If park ambassador wishes that contacts with his station would be accepted LYFFA, it is recommended supply to the award’s coordinator copies of operating journals, in ADIF format, and state exact coordinates (QRA locator, place and so on). If it would be not possible to send copies of operating journals, then contacts will be accepted which are confirmed by the QSL cards which state exact coordinates or QRA locators.
15. It is advisable to activators, as well as ambassadors, to mark their QSL cards with the identifying numbers, LYFF log type.

MOLDOVA              Worked All Moldova Trophy

A special wooden plaque with an colorful engraved metal plate is offered by the Assotiotia Radioamatorilor din Moldova (ARM) for contacting Moldova amateurs on or after 1 June 1993. SWL OK. Europeans need 60 confirmations and all others need at least 30 confirmations from all five radio call areas of Moldova: ER1 through ER5. Any missing area may be replaced with Moldovan special event prefixes of ER6 to ER0. The same station may be contacted up to three times: once each for CW, SSB and Digital modes. The goal of the SP Flora Fauna Award program is to popularize the concept of creating and maintaining the national and landscape parks in Poland. The award is issued by QTC (amateur radio monthly magazine) in cooperation with the international program WFF (World Flora Fauna). The basic award is issued for confirmed QSOs with stations operating from 3 different national/landscape parks (SPFF-001, SPFF-002, SPFF-003 ……SPFF-147). RUSSIA                           Bryansk Region Lakes Award

The Bryansk Region Lakes Award is sponsored by the Zhukovka Branch of Russian Amateur Radio Union. Contacts stations who have operated near natural and artificial lakes, as well as near flood-lands lakes and water reservoirs, all located on the territory of Bryansk region. Contacts on or after August 1, 2009. Only one contact for each lake/reservoir. The body of water should be no less than 1 hectare in size, having or not having a proper name and pinpointed on topographic maps scaled 1:200000 (1 -2 ). You are also allowed to work stations at newly developed artificial reservoirs not yet pinpointed on the maps.

Radio contacts are considered to be established if they are made by:
1. Floating Radio stations.
2. Radio stations, located on islands found in a lake/reservoir;
3. Radio stations, located near a lake/reservoir (on its coast line), but not further than 100 metres from it.

Each reservoir is given an identification serial number " RL" ( Bryansk Region Lake) For example: RL-001, RL-002, etc.

The award has three classes:
1 class - for work with 15 lakes/reservoirs:
2 class - for work with 10 lakes/reservoirs;
3 class - for work with 5 lakes/reservoirs.

For activators, the awards are for 6, 4 or 2 different ones. Activators must make no less than 100 contacts to receive credit. Activators should contact sponsor with complete details to ra3yc@mail.ru.  You must have received the QSLs. The award manager has the right to demand any of the cards for checking. RUSSIA                        Russian Lakes Award

The "Russian Lakes" Award (RLA) has been instituted by the RZ1CWC Team and will be issued to any amateur radio operator or SWL for two-way QSO or SWL-report with radio stations operating from lakes and impoundments located on territory of the Russian Federation. Valid lakes must be designated on a map in scale 1:50000, have a proper name and cover an area not less than one square kilometre. All QSOs/SWLs with /MM radiostaions, radiostaions located on reservoir's islands or in coastal edge (no more than 100 meters from reservoir) are valid.

Each reservoir has identification number "RL" (Russian Lake) + Russian oblast abbreviation + serial number starting from 001. For example: RL-LO-001, RL-KL-002 etc.

Some reservoirs can have several numbers as they are located in different areas (krai, oblast, republic). For example, Lake Baikal is located in Irkutsk oblast and Republic Buryatiya, and accordingly it has two identifiers - IR and BU. In this case Lake Baikal will have two numbers, for example, IR-001 and BU-001 but to be valid as one reservoir. This will be specified in the list of the activated lakes (see below). QSOs/SWLs since January, 1st, 2009 are valid. There are no restrictions by bands and kind of mode. Each reservoir is valid only once.

There are three classes of the award:
o Class 1 - 30 different reservoirs;
o Class 2 - 15 different reservoirs;
o Class 3 - 5 different reservoirs.

RUSSIA                        World Castles Activator Award (WCAA)

This certificate honors the stations who activate historical and memorial places including castles, fortresses, forts, etc. Activators are required to make no less than 50 QSOs from each of 5 various objects which qualify for theWCA. For those operators who live 1 km. From valid castles, fortresses, forts etc., their requirement is to make at least 1000 QSOs. QSOs are valid since January 1st. 1995 using any bands or modes.

The certificate is free of charge. There are two ways to obtain it:
     1) in electronic form - JPG file completely ready for printing in A4 format (297x240) will send by e-mail;
     2) in paper form by post (you are required to pay the postage).

The application for Award certificate "World Castles Activator Award - WCAA" is made in free-form but you must specify the name of the objects, the number assigned to the objects rs by a national award program or WCA-number, total number of QSOs and dates when they were made.

SPAIN                      BULL RINGS of SPAIN Award
                                  Diploma Plazas de Toros de España (DPTE)

The applicant must prove contacts using any band or mode with Spanish cities which have a bull fighting ring. (There are 572 bull rings in Spain). Contacts on or after 1 May 2009. SWL OK. Valid contacts include fixed stations, portables, and mobiles provided they are authorized to do so.

Class A - Trophy. For QSO's with 200 different Bullrings. (Fee = 35€)
Class B - Plaque. For QSO's with 100 different Bullrings. (Fee = 25€)
Class C - Paper Certificate for QSO's with 50 different Bullrings. (Fee = 15€)

You must write to manager for get the awards. to ARVB PO Box: 7, 03300 Orihuela (Alicante), Spain. Apply with a list of bullrings contacted with date, callsign, UTC, name and reference of bullring and always organized by date of activity. This list must be sent by mail. QSL's are not necessary but the manager reserves the right to request any QSL.

UKRAINE                              UKRAINIAN LIGHTHOUSE TROPHY

The award is sponsored by the Southern Ukraine DX Foundation and is awarded for QSO/SWL with the amateur radio stations working from Ukrainian lighthouses and visible beacons.  The award uses the official list of the ARLHS, located, as on any island (sea, river etc.), and on the continental coast. There are no restrictions on date of QSO, band or mode. Repeat QSO/SWL with same lighthouse. The award is available to activators using the same rules. The award consists of two different trophies, Silver and Gold.. (The trophies are a wooden plaque, trimmed with aluminum.

Europeans and Asian stations need:
Silver Trophy: - 30
Gold Trophy: - 50

All others:
Silver Trophy: 15.
Gold Trophy: 25..

Send a list of the lighthouses contacted and copies of both sides of the received QSL cards and fee of $US35 for Ukrainian amateurs and $US50 for all others. Sponsored by the Fox River Radio Leage for contacting at least 62 or more Illinois counties on any band or mode. Endorsements for 82 counties and a grand certificate for all 102 counties. Endorsements for specific bands or modes are available at each level. No use of cross modes, repeaters or digipeaters for this award. Satellite contacts OK. Portable and mobile contacts OK, but confirmation must indicate the county. Contact stations which are operating on the premises or within a quarter mile of Railroad Depots, terminals, as defined in the rules.

     1. Worked All States - confirm contacts with railroad depots in all 50 states.

     2. Worked All of (State) - confirm an entity in every county which has an entity in a particular state.

     3. Worked All Counties - confirm an entity in every county of the United States which has an entity.

     4. D-Series - A series of awards based upon the number of entities an operator has worked. The D10 award is granted when an operator works 10 entities, the D25 when an operator    works 25, D50, D100, D150, etc.

     5. R-Series - Similar to the D-series, except the number references the amount of a particular host railroad's entities an operator has worked.

     6. Round Trip Award - Given for working a rover station driving from depot to depot along current or past line's approximate route.

Endorsements are available for applications which list that all contacts were: made on a single band, single mode, QRP (<5 watts), 5-Bands, VHF (above 50 MHz), and those who meet the requirements of one of the awards listed above using depots of one host railroad.
