--- Awards Program of the Hungarian Radioamateur Society ---

General Requirements: Available to all licensed amateurs and SWL's. All bands and modes may be used, except repeater QSO's. Stations may be contacted only once on any band and any mode. GCR is accepted; exceptions: for the HCS award, you must enclose the required section of the QSL card.

The fee schedule for their awards series is as follows:

a. Hungarian Counties Awards = 10 IRC.
b  Worked Hungarian Districts = 5 IRC.
c. Hungarian Castle Series - Bronze = 5 IRC, -Silver = 8 IRC, -Gold = 10 IRC.

Worked All Hungarian Counties (WAHUC)

Europeans need 2 contacts with each Hungarian county and 2 Budapest contacts for a total of 40 QSLs. DX stations need 1 contact with each county and 1 with Budapest. SWL OK. All bands and modes. Endorsements for all CW or SSB. Contacts after 1 March 1968. 

A special WAHUC-MULTIBAND HF version is offered as followed:

Submit 75 QSL cards confirming 75 QSO's in different counties on any HF band, except WARC. Only one QSL per band from each county and Budapest. No mode restrictions.

Worked Hungarian Districts (WHD)

The Hungarian Radioamateur Society issues this award. Contacts after 1 Jan 1958. HA's need 4 QSO's from each of the 10 districts on two bands for a total of 40 QSLs; EU's need 2 QSO's from each of 8 districts on 2 bands for total of 16 QSLs and all others need 2 QSO's from each of 5 districts on 2 bands for total of 10 QSLs.

On VHF: Same as above but without the 2 band requirement.

Hungarian Castle Series (HCS)

Issued by the Hungarian Radioamateur Society. Contacts after 1 Jan 1968. Many Hungarian stations in each call area have special cards for the HCS Award. They are of different old castles (36 total) found throughout the country. Each of the cards has a tab area with the respective castle number. This must be cut off and submitted with your application. The award is issued in 3 levels:

- Bronze: Castle numbers 1-12 or 13-24 or 25-36.
- Silver: Castle numbers 1-24 or 13-36.
- Gold: Castle numbers 1-36 (all the cards)

The castle numbers are to be found in the HA call areas as follows:

Balaton Diploma (BD)

Sponsored by Radioclub Siofok. For contacts made after 1 Jan 1967. Contact stations as specified below. 
    HA's need 50 points , at least three contacts with Radioclub Siofok members. 
    DX stations have to obtain 15 points, at least 1 contact should be with a member of Radioclub Siofok. 
    Europeans need 30 points and must make 2 contacts with club members.

Big Hunter Award

The Radioclub of Kaposvбr town issues this award which commemorates the exploits of  Szйchenyi Zsigmond, famed big-game hunter. .. The applicant must submit proof of contacts made after 24.04.1967, the date of his death. Confirm contacts with the following countries where he hunted. 

5H-Tanzania, 5X-Uganda, 5Z-Kenya, 9A-Croatia, GM-Scotland, HA3 + HA4-Hungary, I-Italy, KL-Alaska, ST-Sudan, SU-Egypt, VU-India, YO-Romania. 

Class I = HA3 + HA4 plus 11 countries.
Class II = HA3 + HA4 plus 7 countries.

SWL OK.  Contacts may be on CW, SSB or mixed modes.  No WARC band contacts.

Civitas Fidelissima Award         (REWRITE per info from PA3CUZ)

Issued by the Radioamateur Club of Sopron to publicize the stateline Hamfest. 
Points needed HA = 75, EU = 50, all others 25. Contacts since 1 Jan 1990.

Point values:
The following stations = 5 points each: HA1SO SR SS TI DAR DAX HRT KSA KSO KSQ KSS OOT, HG1S and the YL's HA1DBY, HA1DEE, HA1DBK, HA1DFI, and HA1RJA.

DANUBE RIVER AWARD

The Award will be issued to all licensed hams and SWLs based on confirmed contacts and listening after the date of June 01, 2007. All bands and modes are accepted. Applicant is expected to have at least 100 different stations from cities and towns alongside the Danube River. Application should be submitted on LOG 13 print or Excel spread sheet and verified by 2 licensed hams. Applicant should provide 500 HUF or equivalent in EUR (about 3 EUR now) or equivalent in IRCs to cover mailing costs.

DEBRECEN CIVIC TOWN DIPLOMA

Miscellanous: Each year a free week_stay for two is offered by the hotel to one of the owners of our Civic Town Debrecen diploma to be elected by lottery. This opportunity is valid until 31 December 2010 according to our contracts. (Later it will depend on support from our partners. Enquire, send them e-mail and recommend them to your friends while referring to the radio amateur movement whereby you can help a lot too.)

Dunakanyar Diploma (DD)

Issued by the Radioamateur Society of Pest county. Contacts after 1 Jan 1970. All bands and modes, but no use of repeaters or crossband QSO’s. On HF: HA's need 40 different HA7/HG7's, EU stations 20, and DX stations obtain 5 different QSLs from the HA7/HG7 call area. On VHF/UHF: HA’s need 20, EU or DX need 5. (If all contacts can be confirmed by e-QSL's, the award is free.) Fee for HA = 500 Ft., EU/DX

Gyalográdió Award

The aim of the Award is to recognize amateur radio stations who activate or hunt Hungarian "Summits on the Air" (SOTA); operation from tops of mountains. All HAMs and SWLs can apply for the Award based on contacts after 1st May 2005.

The Award is issued in four levels:
1. Figyel (Chaser): for contacting 13 QSOs with Summit activators regardless of the country or region of Summits.
2. Kiránduló (Hiker): for activating 15 Summits in 2 Regions, but at least 3 Summits per Region.
3. Felfedez (Explorer): for activating 30 Summits in 3 Regions, but at least 3 Summits per Region.
4. Magyar vándor (in English: "Hungarian trekker/roamer"): for activating Summits in all 5 active Hungarian regions, minimum 5 Summits per region.

All bands and modes count for the Award, except contacts through terrestrial repeaters.  All QSOs and activations must comply with the General Rules of SOTA and the Hungarian ARM. The application must contain your name and address, a log extract with call sign, date, time, band and mode, including reference data of activated/contacted Summits.  Cost of the Award is 7€, and for domestic stations 1000 Ft. HA Fauna Flora Program

Contact (SWL OK) stations operating from Hungarian Parks and Natural Reserves using HAFF reference numbers.  No use of repeaters for this award.  Each valid HAFF area may be counted once.  Valid contacts are made as of 1 January of the year the Natural Park or sanctuary was established.  If the claimed contacts are shown in the WFF Online Log, QSLs are not needed.  Other QSOs require that the cards be submitted with the application. 


     The Basic Award requires contacts with 12 HAFF areas including at least 5 contracts with Parks listed under HAFF-001 to 010.  
     The Sliver Level requires 24 HA FF areas and at least 8 contacts with National Parks.
     The Golden Level requires ALL Parks and Sanctuaries to be contacted. 

Send list of contacts, showing which QSOs are in the WFF online log, and including cards of the others plus fee of 1000HUF for Hungarian stations, or $US10, 7€ or 7 IRC for all others to WFF (HA) coordinator Szabó László, 4151 Püspökladány, Pf. 24, Hungary.

Issued by the YL-Committee of Hungarian Radioamateur Society (MRASZ) and the HA-YL Club. Confirm contact with different HA-YL stations as follows:

Hungarian Railway Award

Contact members of the Hungarian section of FIRAC (International Radio Amateur Radio Asso. of Railway Workers) after 1 Jan 1991. Mount Everest Award

The aim of this Award is to recognize outstanding activators of the "Summits on the Air" (SOTA) programme. The goal is to activate as many different summits during a 365-day period so that the sum of their height reaches 17696 meters. This is twice of the height of Mt Everest, the total height difference ascending and descending it. All summits listed in the SOTA programme are eligible for the award. General rules of SOTA are valid for the activation conditions. All activations must be uploaded into the database at http://database.sota.org.uk .

To claim the Award send the list of references of activated summits together with your personal data including your name, call sign, starting and ending dates of each operation, and your postal address to the address below. Claims can be submitted both via post or electronically. Only activations carried out after 1st May, 2007 count for the Award. New Budapest Award

Issued by the Radioamateur Society of Budapest (MRASZ BSZ) for contacting Budapest stations on or after 1 Jan 1990. SWL OK. 

On HF,     
    HA's need 75 different HA5 stations,

On VHF, 
    HA/HG's need 50 different HA5 stations within 500km distance, 
    all others need 30 different HA/HG5 stations.

HA's need a total of 12 contacts - 3 from each of the HA/HG1, 2, 3 and 4 call areas using at least 2 bands.
DX stations need 8 contacts - 2 from each of the above call areas using at least 2 bands.
On VHF/UHF, you need 4 contacts, one from each of the above call area.

Issued by Radioclub of Veszto to all amateurs and SWLs for contacts on or after 1 Jan 1993 per list below. HA’s need 30 points, other EU 20, all others 10.
