9A CW Award

CW contacts made with 9A stations. There are three levels of the award: 
Bronze 25 2xCW QSO’s, 
Silver 50 2 x CW QSO’s 
Gold 75 2xCW QSO’s.

Worked 9A Locators Award

The objective of the award is to stimulate amateur radio activity from all grid squares in the Republic of Croatia. Only contacts made on 50 MHz and above are valid for this award and no repeaters. The award can be issued for three different levels, either mixed band or single band: 3rd level – 6 grid squares minimum, 2nd level – 10 grid squares minimum and 1st level – all 15 grid squares. Grid squares available in 9A are: JN 64, 65, JN 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, JN 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, JN 92, 94, 95.

Worked 9A Counties Award

The objective of the award is to stimulate amateur radio activity from all 21 counties in the Republic of Croatia, as well as to encourage the participation in the 9A contests from all parts of the country. The award can be issued for three different levels: Bronze – 10 worked 9A counties, Silver – 15 worked 9A counties and Gold – worked all 21  9A counties

 9A Prefixes Award

Contact each of the call sign 10 prefixes of Croatia.   The award can be issued for three different levels: Bronze,  Silver  and Gold.   Special Event prefixes such as 9A100, 9A80 etc may be used to substitute for one missing prefix.  The Bronze level requires one contact in each call area.  Silver requires two, and the Gold level requires three.

Islands of Croatia Award    (Rewrite/revision of 6/2003)

Award is presented by the National Croatian Tourist Board in cooperation with the Croatian ARA. Contact or provide contacts from islands of Croatia; chasers, activators and SWL’s respectively. The levels of this challenging award are as follows:

Chasers must submit QSL cards or copies of the cards. Any QSLs deemed to have been altered will be disallowed. Activators must show evidence that they have made a minimum of 50 contacts from each island claimed and proof of operation is required, such as photographic or paper authorizations. Activators may count their activity towards the chasers award. Contacts must be made from the same country and made since 26 June 1991 on any HF band 1.8 up to and including 50MHz. Maritime contacts NOT allowed.

Islands of Croatia Directory costs 8 IRCs or 10€ and should be used for any application. This cost includes the cost of the basic certificate. Bronze, Silver and Gold levels cost 8€ or 10 IRCs plus 4 IRCs  or 5€ for QSL return postage. All levels of the lOCA award are free of charge for activators. Plaque and trophies costs 25 IRCs. On applying for the Basic award, applicants should send only sufficient postage for the return of their QSL or they will be returned via the bureaus if needed.  CROATIAN COUNTY AWARD

Issued for confirmed contacts with hams operating from different Croatian counties on or after 5 July 1992.  Available for: CW, Phone, RTTY and Mixed modes.  All contacts on HF and WARC bands are allowed.  The diploma is available for both 50 MHz and 144MHz contacts as well, but only in the mixed category.  No use of repeaters, packet radio or satellites.  SWL OK.

Croatian IOTA Hunters Group Award (CIHG)

Any licenced amateur or SWL can qualify as a CIHG member and earn a special certificate by working (or SWLing) a minimum of 100 different IOTA references after 5 July,1992. At least one 9A-IOTA is needed The qualifying islands include: EU-016, EU-090, EU-110, EU-136 or EU-170.

GCR_list of QSO data from 100 received QSLs (include the callsign, Island name, IOTA reference, QSO date) should be mailed to CIHG president: Kresimir Juratovic,9A7K, P.O.Box –– 88, HR –– 48001 Koprivnica, CROATIA.  Existing IOTA program participants may send a copy of recognized IOTA credits, instead of received QSLs data. One_time membership fee is $US5 or 10 DEM. Each member will receive a membership Award, with membership serial number.

CROATIAN IOTA REFERENCE AWARD

Croatian IOTA Hunters Group issue the Croatian IOTA Reference Award, available to all licensed hams and SWLs. The purpose of the award is to promote operation from beautiful Croatian islands, and stimulate hams from Croatia and all over the world to activate Croatian IOTA references. Contacts after 5 July 1992.

The award is issued in 2 levels:

a) SILVER – BASIC

b) GOLD – ENDORSEMENT

The award is issued in the following categories:CW, PHONE and MIXED; all short_wave QSOs count, WARC bands included. The award is also available for 50MHz/6M and for 144MHz/2M as well, but in MIXED level only. Repeater, packet radio or satellite QSOs do NOT count for the award.

SILVER award requirements: 3 confirmed IOTAs from 9A;

GOLD endorsement requirements: ALL 9A_IOTAs (currently 5 IOTAs: EU_016, EU_090, EU_110, EU_136, EU_170 ).

Award Fee is $US5 or 5€. Gold Endorsement Fee is $US2 or 2€. GCR_list (island name, IOTA reference and other relevant QSO data), verified by 2 licenced hams or national ham association.

No QSL cards are needed, but the Award manager is entitled to check one or all QSLs.

CROATIAN ISLANDS AWARD - CIA

Sponsored by the Croatian IOTA Hunters Group - CIHG to pay tribute to people located on Croatian islands with residents, some of which are small, desolate islands and islets. It is issued for confirmed contacts with hams operating from Croatian islands with year-round residents on or after 5th July, 1992.

A. All Croatian Islands Award - BASIC
Available for CW, Phone, RTTY and Mixed modes.
All confirmed contacts on HF are eligible, including WARC bands.  50MHz, 6M and 144MHz/2M also valid.
No contacts using Relay Stations, Satellite, Packet Radio or telephone.

Croatian Lighthouse Award (CLHA)

 Sponsored by the Croatian IOTA Hunters Group _ CIHG , in collaboration with Croatian Amateur Radio Association. The award pays tribute to people located on small, desolate islands and islets, daily exposed to hardship and danger, and we acknowledge and honour their dedicated work. The award encourages amateur radio activity from Croatian lighthouses. . The award is available for both working and operating/activating Croatian lighthouses. All QSOs after 1st July, 2000 are valid. Each recognized lighthouse is allocated its permanent CLH reference number (ie, lighthouse Palagruza is CLH_100). Special rules for activators. A list of all Croatian lighthouses for CLHA is obtainable from the Award manager on request. List is free of charge, however, return postage cover is required ($US3 or 6 IRCs). Each award applicant needs a CLHA Directory. Application sheet is inside this Directory and each activator or award applicant must fill it out and return to Award manager. There are 6 levels to the award:

CROATIAN POLICE AWARD

This award is sponsored by the HRS (Croatian Amateur Radio Association) and issued by Croatian IPA members. Available to all licenced radio amateurs and SWLs and may be earned for CW, SSB or MIXED contacts. All bands.

Requirements:

    1. CPA SILVER : 50 points + 1 Croatian IPA member + 3 IPA countries
    2. CPA GOLD : 100 points + 1 Croatian IPA member + 5 IPA countries
    3. CPA MEDAL : 200 points +1 Croatian IPA member + 10 IPA countries.
    4. CPA TROPHY: 500 points + CPA Silver (award) + CPA Gold (award) + CPA Medal (gold) + 15 IPA Countries.

Each QSO with IPA member in your own country = 2 points, QSOs with IPA members on your own continent = 5 points, QSOs with IPA members in other continents = 10 points

Club stations count double in each category (4,10,20 points)

Cost of the Award: CPA SILVER AND CPA GOLD $US6 or 6€,  CPA Medal (gold) $US17 or 15€ and CPA Trophy $US35 or 30€..

Work Croatian Prefixes Award

Issued for confirmed contacts with Croatian amateur radio stations with different prefixes on or after 5 July 1992. The basic award Class I requires 3 different, and Class II needs 2. The 9A-PFX Gold Medal requires 5 different 9A prefixes, and the 9A-PFX Trophy requires 10 different 9A prefixes.

For each class, you may substitute one time any special 9A prefix: e.g. 9A2000, 9A900, 9A700. May be endorsed for all: CW, Phone, RTTY and Mixed. All bands, including WARC allowed. The diploma is available for both 50 MHz and 144 MHz contacts as well, but only in the Mixed category. No use of repeaters, packet radio or satellite. SWL OK. The award manager has the right to check one, or several, cards on request. GCR list (including callsign, date, time, frequency, mode and RS/T) and fee of $US6 or 5€ for basic award, fee for medal is $US17 or 15€, and fee for Trophy is $US35 or 30€.

European PSK Club - Croatian Section Series

General Requirements: Sponsored by the Croatian Section of the European PSK Club (EPC-CRO), a part of the Radio Club of Zagreb. The awards are based on working members and the geography of Croatia. SWL OK. Work members using PSK modes. PSK contacts ok on or after 10th June 2006. Awards are available only to members of the group, but membership is FREE of charge - refer to Internet address to join. All awards are issued FREE of charge in a high quality PDF format and sent via email to the applicants.

Application Procedure: All claims for the EPC awards should be made using this Application Form or the UltimateEPC Award Management Software by DK5UR. The award applicant should re-submit his application when claiming for higher/other classes of awards. The award manager will keep all your records in our database. Please make sure before you submit your ADIF log that you have checked it with the appropriate software.

EPC-CRO Awards

The EPC-CRO Awards may be claimed by any EPC member eligible under the EPC-CRO PSK Award Series General Rules listed above who can produce evidence in a form of ADIF log of having contacted different Croatian stations by using any type of the Phase Shift Keying. Each contact with EPC-CRO member is worth 10 points. Only one QSO is permitted with each EPC-CRO member. Ten contacts with ordinary Croatian stations (EPC-CRO non-members) can be used as a «Joker» to replace any one missing QSO with EPC-CRO member (only three missing EPC-CRO members could be replaced in whole EPC-CRO award program). Each ordinary Croatian station (EPC-CRO non-member) counts only once, and each QSO is worth 1 point. The final score is the result of the total QSO points.

EPC-CRO Regional Awards

The EPC-CRO Regional Awards may be claimed by any EPC member eligible under the EPC-CRO Award Series General Rules listed above who can produce evidence in a form of ADIF log of having contacted different EPC members in various EU Areas within Croatia (see map on web site) by using any type of the Phase Shift Keying. Each station counts only once in each EU area within Croatia. Requirements per each award are listed below.

1. EPC-CRO EAST REGION AWARD
The applicant should make PSK contacts with EPC members from any 3 EU Areas in East Region of Croatia (comprises of CR01, CR02, CR10, CR11, CR17 and CR18).
2. EPC-CRO NORTH REGION AWARDThe applicant should make PSK contacts with EPC members from any 3 EU Areas in North Region of Croatia (comprises of CR06, CR07, CR09, CR14, CR16, CR20 and CR21).
3. EPC-CRO SOUTH AWARD
The applicant should make PSK contacts with EPC members from any 4 EU Areas in South Region of Croatia (comprises of CR03, CR04, CR05, CR08, CR12, CR13, CR15 and CR19).

KOPRIVNICA CITY AWARD - K C A

The diploma is issued for contacts with Croatian amateur radio stations which are located in the city of Koprivnica . All QSOs after 5 th July, 1992 are valid. SWL OK. 

a) BASIC - award
Class I : 2 QSO's with different amateur radio stations from the city of Koprivnica
Class II : 1 QSO with amateur radio station from the city of Koprivnica

b) Gold medal:
I 3 QSO's with different amateur radio stations from the city of Koprivnica or 
II 3 QSO's with the special call sign 9A 650 C on three (3) different bands

c) Trophy: I 5 QSO's with different amateur radio stations from the city of Koprivnica or
II 5 QSO's with the special call sign 9A 650 C on five (5) different bands

The diploma is issued for the following categories: CW, Phone, RTTY , PSK31 and Mixed . All contacts on HF and WARC bands are allowed. The diploma is available for both 50 MHz and 144 MHz contacts as well.  Contacts through repeaters, packet radio or satellites are not allowed.  The award fee is 5 EUR , the medal fee is 15 EUR and the trophy fee is 30 EUR .  QSL cards do not have to be in the applicant's possession. The GCR list (with call sign, date UTC, band and mode) must be certified by two licensed OM 's or by the national award manager.

MARKO POLO AWARD

Offered by the "Marko Polo" International Center and Radio Club "Korcula" 9A1CLM to publicize the historical links between this well_known world traveler and the town of Korcula. SWL OK. All contacts must be made from the same country or or after 5 July 1992.

Requirements: make one QSO with Marco Polo’s home town of Korcula, Croatia and at least 20 confirmed contacts with DXCC countries that are geographically located on the historical Silk Road. Contacts with China/BY, Italy I plus an amateur located in the town of  Korcula are required. All bands and modes, but cross band contacts are not permitted. Contact at least 20 countries from the following list:

World Lighthouse Diploma Series

General Requirements : Contacts must have been made since 1 Jan 2000. Any lighthouses under the CLH, ARLH, LH or WLH reference system which are also found on the TWLH list are recognized as valid for purposes of this award. SWL OK. The awards are available to be endorsed for CW, Phone, RTTY or Mixed. All bands OK, including WARC. Separate endorsement for 50MHz/6m also available. No use of relay stations, satellite, packet or telephone is permitted. You must possess the cards. GCR list is accepted and must include all QSO information plus reference number (CLH, ARLH, LH or WLH) identifying the location, plus the name of the lighthouse. THE ZAGREB DIGITAL AWARD

Sponsored by the Radio Club of Zagreb, 9A1ADE, one of the oldest clubs in Europe for contacting any amateur station in the city of Zagreb using digital communication modes.  Contacts must be made on or after 5 July 1992.  You may use HF (including WARC bands), VHF and UHF.  All digital modes are valid including:  RTTY, PSK31, PSK63, THROB, HELL, MFSK, MT63, WSJT, STREAM, PACTOR, OLIVIA, etc. as permitted by the IARU band plan.   SWL OK.  

     Requirements:
     9A stations need 10 contacts.
     All other Europeans need 5.
     All others need 3. 

Apply with a GCR list showing  all QSO information, including digital mode used. Cards are not required, but the award manager reserves the right to request them.  Fee is $US6, 5E or 20KN for HRS members to: Radio Club ZAGREB, Trg Žrtava fašizma 14, HR-10000 Zagreb, Croatia.

Croatian members of DIG (Diplom Interessen Gruppe) issue the Worked 9A DIG Members Award.

The diploma is issued for confirmed contacts with Croatian radio amateurs who are members of DIG (Diplom Interesse Gruppe). All contacts after 5th July, 1992 are valid. No use of repeaters, packet radio or satellite. SWL OK.

America Award

Work and confirm 30 countries and islands of the American Continent for Class III, 35 for Class II, and over 40 for Class I. Contacts must be after 1 January 1959. One of the countries must be Cuba. KG4 is not valid.

Caribbean Award

Class I Excellent : work 30  of the 32 countries and call areas in the Caribbean including those countries with a coast on that area such as XE, VP1, TG, HR, YN, TI, HP and YV. Class II: work 25; Class III: work 20 Countries that have changed call signs accepted under any valid call. One of the countries must be Cuba. KG4 is not valid, not a surprise.

Cuba Award

Work all eight Cuban call districts (CL CM CO T41 T48 ) from 1 to 8. Any missed district, and no more than two, may be substituted by contacting Cuban Club stations. Cuban stations must work the eight districts and cannot use substitute contacts. Club stations have three letters in the suffix. Contacts after 1 January 1959.
